Analog Atlantic Dominates Live Electronica

By James Cameroone

The band Analog Atlantic (or AA) is the most recent of many Pacific Digital tribute bands. But they are much better. They truly live and breath to keep the memory and music of Pacific Digital alive and thriving well into the new decade. They, coincidentally, also like to drink Pacifico. Which goes great with salty snacks and watching Angling on ESPN 3. And often they have vocalist Doug's uncle Linus buy them cases of Pacifico before shows so they can get properly nice before they play. One day maybe AA can all go to AA. Dare to dream suckers! These guys huff paint thinner regularly.

The members of Analog Atlantic are comprised of the genius of Doug Holden - Vocals; Mike Lina - Drums/Programming; and Jimmy Mark - Synthesizers and Programming. Former members of AA include the guy from Queer Eye from the Straight Guy who specialized in grooming; Denzel Washington's nephew Fredrick; and former miss-teen Rhode Island and current resident of the Reno correctional facility Natasha James.

Just like Pacific Digital Analog Atlantic is an super awesome Electronic outfit. But while Pacific Digital was formed on the 14th moon of Omicron Persia 8, AA hails from Sparta, New Jersey in the United States of America. Their favorite TV show is Aqua Teen Hunger Force and they often perform in costume dressed as ATHF just as Pacific Digital did, obviously. They are a tribute band.

AA's favorite member of the cast of Jersey Shore is Snooki - with Pauli D a close second. Their favorite way to order a hamburger at In And Out Burger is "Double Animal Style." As Pacific Digital before them Atlantic Analog is big into standing on staircases and sitting/standing on railroad tracks. They also love to knit each other tube socks.

AA has myriad influences besides Pacific Digital . Primary influences include: Robert, Morris, Owl City, The Title, A Rocket to the Moon, Neil Diamond, Aero Twin, Daft Punk, Cher, The Chemical Brothers, The Dust Brothers, The Brothers Grimm, and many more. Basically any type of music you would huff paint thinner to and get down with.

AA's secondary influence include Bloc Party, Swimming With Dolphins, Drowning With Martians, Port Blue, The Ready Set, The Secret Handshake, The The's, The Red Ferrets, The Blue Marmots, The Free Masons, and the Enslaved Masons. Atlantic Analog is also heavily influenced by pouring furniture varnish into paper bags and then breathing into the paper bags until they pass out. They got the idea from the Sara Silverman show. Or was it Doug's Mom? If you live in New Jersey, god help you but at least you have the world's 4th best Pacific Digital tribute band: Analog Atlantic.
